June 2020: Tree of Life Workshop (Online)
June 2020: Tree of Life Workshop (Online)
Thursday 25th June @ 18:30 - 20:00 via Zoom
The Tree of Life is a visual metaphor which represents your life, it allows a space to tell your story creatively. Your narrative of yourself is key to your life, whether it is related to negative self-talk or how you speak to others about yourself, having a strong understanding of your values allows you to always centre back to yourself.
The Tree of Life’s roots lie with narrative therapy, where the way you speak about your strengths and values create the foundations of how you manage difficult areas in life.
Thursday 25th June @ 18:30 - 20:00 via Zoom
The Tree of Life is a visual metaphor which represents your life, it allows a space to tell your story creatively. It was co-created by Ncazelo Ncube and David Denborough in 2006 and its roots lie with narrative therapy, where the way you speak about your strengths and values create the foundations of how you manage difficult areas in life.
At a time where identity feels even more important, this guided exercise aims to explore and reflect your identity and all the richness in your story so far. It will draw emphasis on your roots, your values and your hopes and dreams. The reflective parts of the exercises will also let you delve into how you feel about each part of your metaphoric tree. It will close with a guided meditation to recentre yourself again.
All proceeds will be donated equally to Black Minds Matter (www.blackmindsmatter.com) who aim to provide specialised mental health support for the black community and Black Learning Achievement and Mental Health (www.blamcharity.com) who work with children in schools so that they have access to a diverse curriculum and one that is reflective African and African Caribbean culture.
